Our office opened to the public for the third time with the launch of “Topias of the 1960s. Heterotopia: A Way of Thinking Politically in Architecture”, written by Emil Burbea-Milescu and based on his PhD research.
Published by the “Ion Mincu” University Press, this volume meticulously documents the extent to which the architectural profession involved imagining generous alternative worlds and social scenarios throughout the 20th century, in contrast to the situation today.
The event was part of the Architecture’s Night In programme of Bucharest Design Festival 2026.
The volume was published within the project:
“Developing UAUIM’s Institutional Capacity for Research in Architecture and Urbanism through the Creation of a Culture of Results Dissemination” (CULTADISER).
The project was funded by the National Council for Higher Education Funding (CNFIS) through the FDI 2025 program.
