This project for a family dwelling explores the tension between the necessity to attach to the existing blind walls and the need for a total opening of the interior towards the garden.
Located in a rather typical alotment of semi-detached houses, the building makes use of the special depth of the garden, unfolding towards it rather than being constrained in a single box-like volume.
The transparent, double height wooden gallery gives way for a multitude of ephemeral uses, while the more opaque, brick and mortar volumes accommodate the more intimate areas of the house.
